Xerox Snowmobiling Safari
Xerox asked Spider Events to come up with an unusual venue to hold a Colour Printer launch coupled with an incentive trip for their top Printer Customers. Alta in Norway is situated on the border of Norway and Finland and is known as the Town of The Northern Lights. We chose this location due to the fact that guests were very likely to witness the Aurora Borealis which correlated well with the new colour printer launch.
Guests took a short flight from Oslo to Alta and on arrival were taken to a conference hotel where the Xerox product launch presentation took place. Spider Events had set up the venue ahead of time with all the necessary AV equipment and Xerox products.
After the presentation, guests were issued with special clothing for the
-20°C temperatures before being taken to the Ice Hotel for a very unique experience! Welcome drinks in the CMYK colours were served in the Ice Bar and guests were taken on a guided tour of the spectacular Igloo Hotel before being seated for dinner in the next door llavo building - reindeer stew and plenty of Jägermeister! By a fantastic stroke of good fortune, the Aurora Borealis were in full flow and guests were all amazed by the spectacle (which Xerox took the credit for of course!).
After a night on reindeer skins on an ice bed, guests were awoken with a hot drink and a large breakfast before setting off on a 130-kilometre snowmobile safari across the Finnmark mountain plateau. Plenty of stops for hot chocolate and elk stew were made along the way in mountain lodges.
On arrival in Karasjok, guests' luggage was taken to their room and guests were shown to the large sauna for refreshments and relaxation. The evening's entertainment was held in a typical Norwegian restaurant with entertainers before guests were given entrance to the local nightclub.
On Day 3, guests retraced their steps on the snowmobiles, once again stopping at mountain lodges, hearing the tales from the mountain lodge keepers! The final evening was spent in a top quality restaurant and a number of nightspots! The following morning guests were treated with a dog sledging activity before boarding their flights back to Oslo and their connecting flights home.
"May I take this opportunity to thank you for what I can only describe as a fantastic and extremely well organised trip with our top sales people for the UK and Ireland. Over the four days I was very impressed with the way that each of the agenda components were organised to the last little detail. Even when people wanted to deviate from the schedule, you were able to cater for their needs in a speedy, fuss-free and low-key manner. As you will see below, our customers were also extremely impressed (and that's just the few who have emailed me so far - more to follow)". Mark Cummins, Xerox
Xerox Customers:
"I have not been made to feel so valued by a vendor during any other incentive in which I have participated. I can only offer my gratitude to all for a fantastic weekend. I'll be pushing Xerox and Tektronix even harder in future."
"Thanks again for a wonderful trip which I have to say is one of the best I have ever been on. It was very well organised from start to finish and my only complaint is that I could have done with a couple more days. An extremely well organised event ....full marks...Incentive wise I will certainly go for these promotions again...we have certainly spread the word to our colleagues about how fantastic the event was."
"Although I did not ski because of my dodgy knees, I found that the organisers wanted to make sure that I was catered for. ....Sarah went to the trouble of finding out which bus went to Hafjell where it left from and at what time and even gave us bus fare; I call that going the extra mile. I have been on many trips over the years, this one is one of the most memorable, thank you very much."
"I have to say that I have had such a brilliant time, I haven't enjoyed myself or laughed soooo much in a long time, the venue was absolutely superb, the company equally so!! I was also very impressed by the tireless work and excellent organisational skills of Sarah Murrell, Spider Events, I have no doubt that without her input the trip wouldn't have been any where near as enjoyable.'" |
